What To Expect During Your Appointment

Before you even step foot in our local dentist office, your personally assigned, highly-trained Lorton Town Dental patient coordinator will contact you to answer any specific questions you may have about your visit, your treatments, and our dental practice.

They will coordinate your first visit and help you to smoothly navigate the steps involved. This will include providing you with access to the forms we will need completed prior to being seen by our Lorton dentists. These forms can be mailed to you, emailed to you, or we can help you locate them online.

Second, when you come for your visit, our friendly receptionists will welcome you and connect you with the members of our dental team involved in your treatment.

Depending on the nature of your visit and planned treatment, you will likely be escorted and seated comfortably in our private dental hygiene area. It is here that one of our professional, highly-trained hygienists will thoroughly evaluate your mouth with the aid of the latest, high-tech diagnostic dental equipment. The results of this evaluation will be documented for your record.

Based on your unique situation, this evaluation may include:

A periodontal examination and screening

Caries detection (to help evaluate the presence of carious lesions, cavities, and other issues)

Oral cancer screening and detection

Digital radiography of the entire mouth

A neck and head examination

After these important diagnostic dental evaluations, we will likely perform a thorough teeth cleaning and possibly a debridement of your teeth and gums.
